Dosage ; Adult: 500mg- 1g OD or BD.

Gout 750mg initially then 250mg TID.

Musculoskeletal disorders: 250mg TID or QID PRN

(max 1250mg daily after the first day).

Children 5-16 years: 10mg/kg body weight in two divided doses

Mode Of Action

Selective inhibitor of activated factor X that blocks both thrombin and thrombus formation

Drug Indication Mild to moderate pain, antipyretic, fibrositis, osteoarthritis, rheumatic spondylitis, ankylosing spondylitis.
Precautions Asthma, bronchospasm, elderly, bleeding disorders, impaired renal/hepatic disorders, concomitant anticoagulant therapy, cirrhosis, peptic ulceration, cardiovascular disturbances.
Contra-Indications Peptic ulcers, hypersensitivity to naproxen or cross sensitivity with other NSAIDs.
Side Effects Bronchospasm, GI disturbances, CNS effects, visual changes, blood dyscrasia, hypersensitivity reactions, renal impairment and cystitis.
