Dosage;
By mouth, 250-500 mg every 6 hours or 0.5-1g every 12 hours;
up to 1g every 6 hours in severe infections;
child, 25-50mg/kg daily in 2-4 divided doses. By deep I.M injection or
by I.V injection over 3-5 minutes or by I.V infusion, 0.5-1g every 6 hours,
increased to 8g daily in severe infections;
child 50-100mg/kg daily in 4 divided doses.Surgical prophylaxis,
by deep I.M injection or by I.V injection over 3-5 minutes, 1-2g at induction.
