Dose Adult
Moderate to severe infections: 2–4 g IV every 6–8 hours.
Severe Pseudomonas infections: Up to 24 g/day IV in divided doses.
Dose Paeds
150–300 mg/kg/day IV in divided doses every 6–8 hours (maximum according to clinical indication).

Combinations

| Indications | Serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative organisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter species, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia, biliary tract infections and hospital-acquired infections. |
| Precautions | History of penicillin allergy, renal impairment, hepatic dysfunction, sodium load in patients with heart failure, prolonged therapy may result in superinfection. |
| Contraindications | Known hypersensitivity to mezlocillin, penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. |
| Pregnancy/Lactation | Generally considered low risk during pregnancy when clinically indicated. Compatible with breastfeeding; monitor infant for diarrhoea or candidiasis. |
