Dose Adult
3 g IV every 4–6 hours depending on severity (maximum 18–24 g/day).
Severe Pseudomonas infections: Up to 24 g/day IV in divided doses.
Dose Paeds
200–300 mg/kg/day IV divided every 4–6 hours (maximum according to indication).

| Indications | Serious infections due to susceptible Gram-negative organisms including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, complicated urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia, bone and joint infections and skin/soft tissue infections. |
| Precautions | Penicillin allergy, renal impairment, sodium overload, heart failure, electrolyte imbalance, prolonged therapy and risk of superinfection. |
| Contraindications | Known hypersensitivity to ticarcillin, penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. |
| Pregnancy/Lactation | Use during pregnancy only when clearly indicated. Generally considered compatible with breastfeeding. |
