Dose Adult - Dosage Range

Oral

Adults: 5–10 mg (10,000–20,000 units) three times daily after meals. Duration depends on indication.

Paediatric use: Safety not well established; not routinely recommended.

Combinations;

Frequently combined with Aceclofenac, Diclofenac, Nimesulide, Paracetamol + Aceclofenac, Trypsin + Chymotrypsin and other NSAIDs to enhance reduction of inflammation and oedema.

Indications; Post-operative swelling, dental surgery, trauma, sports injuries, ENT inflammation, sinusitis, mastitis, arthritis, painful musculoskeletal conditions and oedematous inflammatory disorders.

Precautions; Use cautiously in bleeding disorders and with anticoagulants.

Contraindications; Hypersensitivity.

Pregnancy/Lactation; Avoid unless clearly indicated.

MOAProteolytic enzyme that hydrolyses inflammatory proteins and facilitates drainage of inflammatory exudates, reducing oedema and pain.
UsesPost-operative oedema, dental extraction, cellulitis adjunct, sinusitis, otitis, trauma, fractures, sprains, arthritis, sports injuries and inflammatory soft tissue disorders.
Side EffectsNausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, rash, hypersensitivity; rare bleeding.
